Where We Go

Exploring the Ten Thousand Islands & Remote Barrier Islands

Where Do We Find Our Shells? Our charters explore the dynamic transition zones of Southwest Florida—focusing on remote barrier islands, tidal flats, oyster bars, and deep passes throughout the Ten Thousand Islands National Wildlife Refuge. Because these shorelines are continuously reshaped by tides and weather, every low tide reveals fresh wrack lines filled with lightning whelks, fighting conchs, olives, and specimen shells.

A Commitment to Responsible Shelling We protect what we love. Our captains practice and teach ethical beachcombing: live shells are never collected, and we respect the fragility of local seagrass beds, oyster bars, and mangrove shorelines to preserve the ecosystem for future generations.

Marco Island Shelling & Eco-Tour Highlights

What to Expect on Your Charter Every trip into the Ten Thousand Islands National Wildlife Refuge is dictated by the natural rhythm of the tides. Our private and custom boat tours take you away from the crowded municipal beaches of Marco Island and deep into secluded island environments.

  • Uncrowded Shorelines: Step off the boat onto untouched sandbars and barrier islands where your footprints are often the only ones on the beach.
  • Local Marine Life: Keep an eye out for bottlenose dolphins surfing our wakes, manatee pods in the backwaters, and wading birds foraging along the mangrove edges.
  • Expert Guidance: Learn how to spot hidden junctures, identify local finds along the wrack lines, and navigate the complex mazes of Southwest Florida's tidal passes safely with seasoned local captains.
